Financial Accountant - Lead

The Opportunity

This is a newly created position within a prominent Aged-Care organisation. As the Lead Financial Accountant, you will manage financial accounting, statutory compliance, and financial stewardship across a multi-portfolio environment.

This role is ideal for a technical lead who enjoys process improvement and mentoring. You will oversee one direct report.

Your Impact

• Financial Control: Manage month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate financial close. Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations of provisions, accruals, and asset/liability schedules.
• Statutory Reporting: Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with AASB, ACNC, and NFP requirements.
• Cashflow & Treasury: Prepare weekly and rolling cashflow forecasts. Monitor liquidity, funding cycles, and treasury functions including bank reconciliations and investment monitoring.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate external and internal audit requirements, including the preparation of workpapers and remediation actions.

About You

• Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Accounting/Finance and CA/CPA accreditation.
• Experience: Extensive financial accounting experience within medium to large organisations. Prior experience in a Not-for-Profit or government-funded environment is highly regarded.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of AASB and ACNC frameworks. Experience with multi-entity structures and Board-level reporting.
• Systems: Experienced with ERPs, Power BI, and Excel.
